Put simply, DJI care is an insurance plan for your drone. It means that if you have a crash or your drone is damaged, even if it’s your fault and the drone is a complete write of, you can have it repaired or replaaced. There are two different types of care plans, depending on which drone you have:
A one off payment to cover your drone for any repairs for the first year after purchase. For a one off fee you get free repairs on your drone up to a set value - usually the RRP of the drone itself.
So if your drone costs £1000 you can have up to £1000 worth of repairs before you have to pay anything, or a replacement if your drone is unrepairable.

A one off payment to cover your drone for two replacements in the first year after purchase. There is a small excess to pay each incident, which varies per drone, but most damage - even water damage - is covered.
So for example if you smash your Spark, Mavic Pro or Phantom 4 Advanced into smithereens, you would pay the excess and get a full replacement drone.

Both DJI care plans can only be purchased for DJI products that have been active less than 48 hours. This is because the condition of the product cannot be determined after the 48 hour period. So make sure you plan ahead, you wouldn’t want to miss out and end up paying costly repairs or shelling out for a brand new drone.
Warranty covers your drone for any manufacturer faults. Whereas the DJI Care plans cover your drone for accidental damage during normal use, which warranty does not cover.
Covering your drone with a DJI Care plan won’t affect the drone’s warranty and if your drone goes for repair and it can be fixed under the warranty your DJI Care plans coverage allowance won’t be affected.
